About a 30 minute train ride
Several craftsmen have built studios along a roughly 5 kilometer (3.1 mile) agricultural road which stretches east to west in the southern part of Tanushimaru Town. This road attracts a lot of attention from sightseers on foot. There are seven stained glass, oil painting, dyeing, and other such studios in addition to a strolling garden called "Morokoan". Visitors can taste and purchase sake at Beniotome Shuzo and Kyoho Grape Winery. At the tourism orchards dotting the area, visitors can pick various seasonal fruits.

In Ukiha City's town of Yoshii (which flourished as an inn town along the former Chikugo Kaido Road), about 80 stores with white mortar walls remain even to this day. The area has been designated a Government Designated Important Traditional Building Preservation Area
About a 10 minute drive
This triple water wheel for irrigation was constructed in 1663. After more than 200 years, the water wheel continues to pump water and has been deemed a Government Designated Historical Site.

B: The Kyoho Grape Wine Festival in September and "Come and View Yamazuto's Road" event on November 2 and 3 will highlight any stroll along Yamazuto's Road. The latter event offers a "Tanuki" Shuttle Bus for tourists.
C: Highlight a stroll through the white mortar wall district with the "Tour of Dolls in Yoshii, Chikugo" from February 15 to April 3.

Chikugoji's souvenirs: Kyoho grape wine - Tanushimaru is the first place in Japan that succeeded in cultivating Kyoho grapes. Kyoho grape wine was also made there for the first time.Harazuru Hot Springs' herb goods (herb tea, mild hand/body soap and shampoo that are also environmentally-friendly) and famous sweet "Fuyu Kakitarou" (a jelly candy with persimmon fruit inside).
