Fukuoka City Sea Fishing Park

福岡市海づり公園

On the eastern coast of the Itoshima Peninsula that faces the Hakata Bay, there is a 386m T-shaped net fishing wharf in the ocean, the first type of warf in Kyushu. 280 people can use it at once, and visitors can catch many kinds of fish depending on the season, including black porgy, pinspotted spinefoot, caranx, righteye flounder, Japanese sea perch, flounder, and striped mullet. Fishing pole rentals are available, and staff members can teach visitors fishing methods/tricks. On weekends, it is bustling with many people who enjoy fishing and their families, serving as a maritime recreation area for the citizens. Near the entrance, it has a facility for children to play, as one of the coastal development projects.
