This is the 16th temple of the 88 sacred places along the Sasaguri pilgrimage route, where many worshippers come to pray for blessings. There are many highlights, including over 3,000 Mizuko Jizo statues and the Daishi-do where Kobo Daishi is enshrined. The vast grounds are scenic throughout the four seasons, giving you a sense of nature's beauty. The autumn foliage is especially spectacular! A thousand maple trees, Japanese enkianthus trees, Japanese zelkova trees, and other trees change color all at once, painting the entire grounds bright red.

Savor, to your heart's content, the authentic taste of ingredients delivered directly from the factory. The market is also lined with products that can only be purchased here, making it a great place to look for gifts.

    A cafe restaurant located halfway up Mt. Wakasugi. From the large wall-to-wall windows, soak up the panoramic view of the Fukuoka streetscape and Hakata Bay! Enjoy meals and tea while watching the cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and snowy scenery in winter. The cafe menu also includes coffee brewed with groundwater from Mt. Wakasugi, as well as sweets and light meals. Have a luxurious time in this extraordinary space.

      An observation deck that offers beautiful views of Hakata Bay and the Tenjin area. It is also known as a night view spot with a fantastic panorama that spreads out before the eyes.
      The summit, 594 m above sea level, is also a launch pad for gliders. If you time it right, you may be able to see colorful paragliders and hang-gliders floating in the blue sky. Please drive carefully as the road to the observation deck is narrow.

        This general food manufacturer, which originated as a soy sauce brewery, was founded in 1893. Its quaint storefront is built in a renovated kominka (old private house) from the Meiji period (1868-1912) that was relocated from Hakata. It offers an extensive selection of seasonings and foods, including soy sauce, dashi (soup stock), and tsuyu (dipping sauce) for hotpots. You can try out samples, so be sure to find your favorite. At the adjoining shop, the tamagoyaki (egg omelet) made with the popular "Kayanoya Dashi" and the soy sauce soft serve ice cream are popular. Why not stop by for a break during your drive?
