Nabeshima Dantsu
鍋島緞通
Perfect for Japan’s Climate
The Nabeshima Dantsu rug dates back about 300 years to the Genroku era, when Koga Seiemon adapted techniques from China to weave what became known as Ōgimachi Mousen.
Unlike woolen carpets overseas, Nabeshima Dantsu is made from cotton—a material well suited to Japan’s humid climate.
Praised for its soft texture, durability, and the depth of character it gains with use, it remains a beloved traditional floor covering in Japan.
