September and October in Fukuoka are a celebration of music! Fukuoka Music Month 2026
“Fukuoka Music Month” was launched in 2014 in Fukuoka, a city renowned for its vibrant music scene. Five festivals held in September joined forces with the City of Fukuoka to promote Fukuoka as a “City of Music” both in Japan and around the world, and the event has since become a major fixture on the city's cultural calendar. In 2026, two more festivals have joined the lineup, bringing a total of seven events across a wide range of musical genres, presented week by week. This September and October, Fukuoka becomes a celebration of music! Here’s a look at what to expect from each festival.
