Onsen Facilities by Theme | Stay with Your Pet
If you’re heading to a hot spring, you may want to bring your beloved pet along too. In recent years, more and more “pet-friendly” accommodations have appeared—some offer guest rooms with spacious private dog runs, while others welcome cats and small animals as well. Since rooms that allow pets are limited, booking early is recommended.
Please note: pets are not allowed to bathe in the hot springs.
Oyado Hanawarabi
Set on lush, green grounds, Oyado Hanawarabi features detached-style guest rooms that create a private, relaxed atmosphere. In addition to Japanese- and Western-style rooms, the inn offers pet-friendly accommodations, including rooms with a dedicated dog run—perfect for enjoying a getaway together with your companion. Dinner is another highlight, with kaiseki cuisine showcasing fresh seafood from the Genkai Sea, including the popular live squid (yari-ika) sashimi.
Kutsurogi no Mori Greenpia Yame
This multi-purpose leisure complex sits in a spacious natural setting and includes lodging, a hot spring facility, a campground, and sports grounds. The dog-only cottages are thoughtfully equipped—features such as a foot-washing area and ventilation help ensure a comfortable stay with your pet. Guests can also use the on-site dog run.
The natural hot spring, drawn from 1,600 meters underground, is an alkaline simple hot spring that can be enjoyed in large public baths (indoor and open-air), as well as private reservable baths.
Kubote Takasho Bokusen no Sato
Nestled at the foot of sacred Mt. Kubote, this lodging offers a serene stay surrounded by nature. The detached pet-friendly villa “Shakunage” is an airy space with two bedrooms and a spacious living room (about 18 tatami mats), designed for relaxed time together with your dog, cat, or small pets. Another plus: even large dogs are welcome—up to three per stay—making it a reassuring choice for multi-pet travelers. During your visit, you can enjoy not only the large public bath but also private reservable baths, available free of charge.
