Bayside Place Hakata had its grand opening in March 11, 2010. It was reborn as a facility featuring restaurants as well as shopping, amusement, and hot spring facilities so that visitors can enjoy a whole day there. Three buildings facing Hakata Bay house about 20 stores including a FM radio station called Cross FM. There are full array of new stores such as “Hakata Matsukin Ichiba” where fresh fish from Iki and Genkai Sea and vegetables and fruits mainly from Fukuoka can be purchased, “La cave de Nicolas le Bordeaux” which keeps a wine cellar housing mainly Bordeaux wines and also provides meals, “The Kitchen”, a food court where international foods including Korean, Chinese, Italian, and Spanish can be enjoyed, and “Lighthouse” where visitors can view live magic and music shows while having meals! At “Milky Way” children will have fun with large-size play equipments, educational toys, and books even on a rainy day.
