A sand sculpture festival featuring masterpieces by the world's top sand sculptors

Ashiya Town spreads out at the mouth of the Ongagawa River overlooking the Hibikinada Sea, which stretches northwest of the Kaimon Strait in northern Fukuoka Prefecture. Ashiya Coast, which faces Hibikinada Sea and stretches about 1 km long, is characterized by its wide sandy beach. The Ashiya Sand Sculpture Exhibition features sand sculptures made from the fine sand of Ashiya Beach.
Sand sculptures are made of sand and water. Sand sculptures, which are extremely fragile and delicate, are created by top professional sand sculptors from Japan and other countries who are active in the world. These highly artistic works of art are a sight to behold, and they look great on Instagram! At night, the sand sculptures are lit up and lit up with fireworks, creating a fantastic sight.
An Instagram photo contest and photography contest will also be held.
Various other events will also be held, including works created by local junior high and high school students.

Access Ashiya Town Bus: Take the bus bound for Kaihin Koen from Ongagawa Station, get off at Ashiya Kaihin Koen Iriguchi bus stop, and walk about 5 minutes. Get on the bus bound for Ashiya Chuo Hospital or Hamayu Danchi, and get off at Ashiya Town Hall and walk about 10 minutes.
From JR Orio Station: Take the Kitakyushu Municipal Bus bound for Ashiya, get off at Ashiya Town Hall, and walk about 10 minutes.
From Kitakyushu area: From Route 3, turn right at Imakoga intersection and go toward Ashiya.
 From Fukuoka: Approx. 30 minutes from the Kurate IC of the Kyushu Expressway
