Onga Shimazu-Maruyama Natural Park

島津・丸山歴史自然公園

This riverside natural park serves as a conservation for the history and nature of the residing area. Filled with distinctive flowers and plants of all four seasons, the premises reserves some of the oldest ancient burial mounds in the region including one keyhole-shaped, one rectangular, and three round tumuli. Added features here include exhibition halls, showrooms, and a bulletin board for exposing deeper into the rich nature of the surrounding area as well as the makeup of the inside of the ancient tombs. The Shimazu-Maruyama burial mounds here have been designated as Historic Sites of Onga Town.
