A summer festival with a 300-year tradition. The heroic Oi Yamakasa is a must see !

The Gion Festival has a history of about 300 years, with a children's barrel mikoshi (portable shrine) on the 13th, and the “Oi Yamakasa” (A float that follows the festival) on the 15th, which is pulled with great vigor through the town.
