Kurume Water Festival
水の祭典久留米まつり
Notice: In response to the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake, some programs have been revised and the festival will be held on a reduced scale. The Eve Festival will be held as originally scheduled.
One of Kurume's biggest summer festivals, this lively event brings the entire city together. Meiji Street comes alive with marching bands, street performances, and the famous 10,000-Person Soroban Dance, creating an exciting festive atmosphere throughout the city.
Event Highlights
◎ Eve Festival (Held as scheduled) – Kurume City Plaza Rokkakudo Square
Soroban dance performances, dance shows, live music, and more by teams participating in the main festival.
◎ Main Festival (Some programs revised) – Meiji Street, Kurume City
Street Performances (12:00–17:00) – Held as scheduled
Parade (16:00–17:00) – Held as scheduled
10,000-Person Soroban Dance (18:30–20:20) – The attempt to set a Guinness World Record has been canceled.
