Naritasan Kurume Branch Myo-o-ji Temple – Setsubun Festival

【成田山久留米分院明王寺】節分会

At 11:00 AM, a special Tsuina Goma fire ritual is performed inside the main hall.

Participants who are men and women born in the current zodiac year, dressed in traditional kamishimo attire, receive blessings for good luck, protection from misfortune, and warding off evil.

Afterwards, they loudly shout “Fuku wa uchi!” (“Fortune in!”) and scatter 120 kg of lucky beans—contained in 20,000 bags with prizes—from the hall’s corridors. The event attracts many devoted male and female worshippers, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.
