Oba Toshio, a blacksmith in the city who continues to preserve the history of three generations starting with his grandfather.
Hakata kitchen knife, with a triangular tip is called ”Hakata’s one and only knife,” and if you have one, you can cut anything.
Also, all Grand Sumo wrestling rings are prepared using a hoe made by Oba.
He is also a Fukuoka Prefecture Excellent Technician, Fukuoka City Distinguished Skilled Worker, Hakata-cho Order of Culture- Hakata Master Craftsman.
