【宮地嶽神社】節分祭福豆まき神事
A seasonal ritual to drive away evil spirits and invite good fortune.
This is a ritual to drive away bad luck and evil spirits, performed from a special stage.
People celebrating their unlucky year (yakudoshi) or those who are “toshidoshi” (men and women of the year’s zodiac sign) wear traditional kamishimo attire and throw lucky beans while shouting “Fuku wa uchi!” (“Fortune in!”).
Visitors who receive Setsubun lucky beans and other good-luck items can also get a fortune lottery ticket.
