Iizuka City Historical Museum

飯塚市歴史資料館

The Iizuka City Historical Museum was opened as a place to learn the history and culture of Iizuka City. On display at the museum are Tateiwa artifacts which have been designated as important cultural properties. Also on display are examples of shell bracelets and mirrors from the Chinese Han dynasty. The museum also has a replica of an ancient tomb. On permanent display are examples of artifacts from the Jomon, Yayoi, and Kofun periods.

The building is 1220 square meters (13,000 square feet); total area is 2358 square meters (25,000 square feet)
The building is barrier free; handicapped toilet, a baby bed, rented wheel chair etc.

Group rates are for groups with more than 20.
On Saturdays, free admission for high school students and younger.
Car Park Parking for 40 cars and 4 buses.
Access *About a 5 minute walk from JR Shin-Iizuka Station’s east exit.
*About a 2 minute walk from Nishitetsu Kaya-no-Mori bus stop. From Iizuka Bus Center, take buses number 2 or 23 bound for Kamimio.
