Located at the foot of Inunaki Pass along the Inunaki River, a tributary of the Onga River, Wakita Onsen boasts a long history dating back to the Nara period. Far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life, this peaceful hot spring village offers true relaxation in the heart of nature. Visitors can unwind while admiring the stunning scenery that changes with each season. The spring water is a clear, colorless, alkaline simple hot spring that contains sulfur, giving it a slightly silky texture that gently envelops the skin. In the hot spring town, you can also stroll along the “Haiku Path,” where monuments inscribed with award-winning poems from the national Miyawaka Haiku Contest line the way.
