Affectionately known as “Akayu,” this day-use onsen is famous for its reddish-brown, cloudy water that continues to attract devoted onsen fans.The iron-rich spring contains an impressive 9,000 mg of dissolved minerals—about nine times the standard level for therapeutic onsen.Thanks to its strong heat-retaining properties, warmth stays with you long after bathing.Benefits such as skin-tightening and fatigue recovery are often associated with this iron-rich water.
The owner, Mr. Ichida, is a certified onsen sommelier and is happy to offer advice on effective bathing methods.
