Beniotome Brewery

(株)紅乙女酒販・山の貯蔵場

Surrounded by the longest river in Northern Kyushu, the Chikugo River, and in the south by Mino Mountain Range, the town of Tanushimaru in Kurume City is blessed with nature and fertile fields, and has seen an increase of visitors.
At the base of Mino Mountain Range is the Benioteme Brewery where Goma Shochu, Japanese liquor made from sesame, is made. Using a fermenting process that brings out the full flavor of the shochu, Benioteme shochu is carefully fermented for 3, 5 or 8 years in enamelwares, oak barrels, or unglazed pots from Okinawa.
In addition to the eight storerooms where the shochu is fermented, there is a guest house where visitors can taste the liquor and the other old private homes, some from the Azuchi-Momoyama Period (1558-1600). While others might want to admire the fours seasons in itself. Whatever might be the case, we are waiting for your visit.
*Please do not drink and drive.
