【Funagoya Onsen】Grand Hotel Higuchiken

Lined with a clear stream said to be home to fireflies, the Yabe River flows past a beautiful grove of giant camphor trees more than 350 years old.
Standing along its banks is one of the long-established hotels that represents the Funagoya Onsen Area.
All 17 guest rooms offer river views, and in 2025, new Western-style and Japanese-Western rooms with a calm Japanese-modern design were added on the top floor.
From the panoramic bath as well, you can look out over the Yabe River while soaking in the carbonated “beauty onsen” unique to the Funagoya Onsen Area, enjoying the surrounding scenery at a relaxed pace.
On the first floor, there is also a private space featuring a private sauna and reservable semi open-air onsen bath, complete with a mineral-water cold bath and an outdoor air-cooling area.
For day-use bathing, a return-bathing ticket (10 tickets for ¥7,000) is required.
Use of the private sauna and reservable semi open-air bath (from ¥2,000 for 50 minutes) requires advance reservation.
