The furniture made of empress tree has been used in Japan since ancient times and durable against fire and water and light. Besides, since the grain is beautiful and the surface is smooth, it is valued even in present day. Like a word, ”The empress trees live for 100 years”, even though the furniture has been used for many years, it can be beautifully recovered by repair. At the Kiri Kobo, taking advantage of the empress tree’s character, drawers and Irori fireplaces are manufactured. There are an array of lifelong furniture which traditional technique and new design are merged.
