Terraced rice fileds in Take area

竹の棚田

The terraced rice fileds with maisonry barrier has about 400 year-long history, were well designed to utilize the little space of valley by the wisdom and effort of the men of old. The well-preserved terraced rice fileds were selected as one of the ”Top 100 Terraced Paddy Fields in Japan” in 1999. Every June, The glow of fireflies entertain us at night.
