Ishikura Sake Brewery

石蔵酒造

In 2020, Hakata Hyakunen-gura celebrated its 150th anniversary.

Often affectionately called “Hakata Hyakunen-gura,” this brewery is the only active sake brewery remaining in Hakata, where traditional sake-making continues to this day. At the same time, it serves as a historic space in the city, hosting wedding receptions, concerts, and other events.

For more than 150 years since the Meiji era, Hakata Hyakunen-gura has preserved its unique atmosphere. Its white earthen walls and brick chimney have become a beloved part of the cityscape. In January 2011, it was designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property by the Japanese government for its contribution to the nation’s historic landscape.

Signature Brands: Daiginjo Hyakunen-gura 40, Ginjo Josui

Hakata Hyakunen-gura also features a direct sales shop where visitors can sample and purchase sake. Please feel free to stop by.
