Delicious sake brewed in Ukiha, the town of famous spring water

Located on the eastern edge of the Chikushi Plain, where the Chikugo River flows and bordering Oita Prefecture, Ukiha City is a rare town in Japan with no public water supply—residents rely on natural spring water for daily life. Founded here in 1893, Isonosawa has spent 131 years as Ukiha’s only sake brewery. Generation after generation, owners and craftsmen have worked together, pouring their dedication into every drop with the belief that “each year’s sake is made only once,” continually pursuing depth and authenticity in their brewing.

Since its founding, the brewery has upheld the philosophy that “everything is for making delicious sake.” With sincerity and passion, the entire team strives to create refined and flavorful sake, earning recognition at numerous competitions and tastings.

In addition to producing a wide range of sake including Junmai Daiginjo, Isonosawa also accepts custom orders for original sake—perfect as a special gift for someone important.
