Sea of clouds of Kiyomizu Temple
清水寺 竹灯籠
Kiyomizu Temple which was established by the priest Gyoki in the Tempyo period (729-748) is a temple with a history of paying respect to the statue of the Goddess of Mercy which is located in the main temple. Due to its high elevation, this temple is well known as a superb scenic spot overlooking Wakamiya and Kitakyushu! A mysterious and beautiful sea of clouds can be seen the next morning after it has rained!
