Akaji Hachimangu Hojo-ya Dedication Fireworks Festival

赤司八幡宮放生会奉納花火大会

Experience the power of 2,000 fireworks up close!

Held every year on September 15, this fireworks festival is dedicated to prayers for a bountiful harvest and good health. It is part of the Hojo-ya ritual at Akaji Hachimangu, a traditional event said to have a history of over 300 years.
Around 2,000 fireworks are launched. Since the launch site is located in the center of a residential area and only about 50 meters from the viewing spots, spectators can feel the overwhelming impact of sound and light right above their heads.
The shrine grounds are lined with food stalls, creating a festive atmosphere filled with visitors.
