Zendo Temple

善導寺

Zendo Temple was established by Shoko-shonin who was the head disciple of the Jodo sect founder, Honen and Nagahira Kusano in Chikugo funded it. The main hall was constructed in Edo era. Within the temple precinct is a linden tree that has been designated as prefectural natural treasure and an old camphor tree that is more than 700 years old. The Bonsho (temple bell) is the biggest in Fukuoka prefecture.
