The town’s slogan is “Harmony created by the sea, town, land, mountains and people.” As the slogan suggests, you can go clamming by the sea and also enjoy the rich countryside. Harvesting vegetables, especially sunroot, is popular, but it is possible to harvest seasonal produce all year round.

<Activities>
The main activity is harvesting and cooking sunroot. This takes place from November to March. Guests harvest sunroot on the farm where they are staying and then cook and eat it with the farmers. The deliciousness of freshly picked produce is also part of the appeal of this experience. Other activities include picking plums during plum season, making bamboo containers to serve somen noodles in during the summer, and harvesting seasonal vegetables. There is always something to enjoy throughout the year.

<Stay>
The sunroot farmhouse inn “Tsuzuriyama no Sato” is available for overnight stays. The pristine stream that flows through the farm is used to grow rice and vegetables, making it a real treat to enjoy both the natural scenery and the food. What’s more, overnight guests can enjoy the activities at no additional cost.

<Cuisine>
The rice and vegetables grown in fields irrigated with crystal clear water, and especially the dishes made with sunroot, are noteworthy. Sunroot is said to be among the top three healthiest vegetables, and it has been attracting a lot of attention. Aside from its health benefits, it also has a crisp texture and a unique aroma that makes it irresistible.
