Shiomi Park

潮見公園

Shiomi Park lies at an altitude of 170 meters (roughly 560 feet) above sea level. It has a scenic overlook from which visitors can see Hakata Bay below them and Fukuoka City on the opposite shore. There is also a monument inscribed with an ancient Manyo poem. Shiomi Park provides a place to take in a 360-degree panorama of the inner bay, Umi no Nakamichi, and beyond! Since this is also a great spot to watch the sun rise from behind Mount Tachibana, it receives many visitors on the first day of the new year!
