Umi no Nakamichi

海の中道

A sandbank that stretches from the beach of Nata all the way to Shikanoshima Island. 500m wide at its narrowest point and even at its widest areas, only 2km wide. The shapes of sand dune on the ocean side change depending on wind conditions everyday. It has been selected as one of the 100 best beaches in Japan. Particularly ”Shioya-no-misaki Cape” is excellent. There is also ”Umi no Nakamichi Seaside Park” in this area, which has 292ha currently and will be expanded to the size of 540ha in future.
