KITAKYUSHU OPEN TOP BUS

北九州オープントップバス

The double-decker sightseeing bus “KITAKYUSHU OPEN TOP BUS,” operated by Nishi-Nippon Railroad, will begin service on Friday, March 27, 2026, touring major attractions in Kitakyushu. Like the popular “FUKUOKA OPEN TOP BUS,” which has been loved in Fukuoka since 2012, this exciting sightseeing experience is finally coming to Kitakyushu. The vibrant yellow bus features designs inspired by Kitakyushu’s official flower, the sunflower, as well as the unique sculpture “Space Seven Luminaries Spirit (nicknamed ‘Macaroni Alien’).” The bus is equipped with a retractable roof that can be opened or closed depending on the weather.
From the approximately 3.8-meter-high bus, passengers can enjoy views of many popular spots, including Kokura Castle, the Kitakyushu industrial area, Kanmon Bridge, Wakato Bridge, and Mojiko Retro. All courses offer multilingual audio guides (English, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese), accessible via passengers’ smartphones.
