Uminonakamichi Seaside Park (Fukuoka City)

The nanohana (rapeseed blossoms) at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park can be enjoyed while strolling along paths that run through the flower fields, allowing visitors to admire the blossoms surrounded by flowers. A vast carpet of yellow stretches as far as the eye can see, beautifully contrasting with the blue sky. Other flowers such as sasanqua camellias and plum blossoms are also planted throughout the park.

Nokonoshima Island Park (Fukuoka City)

The view beyond the approximately 500,000 rapeseed blossoms is breathtaking! You can enjoy a panoramic view of Hakata Bay stretching from Shikanoshima to Uminonakamichi. The best viewing season is usually from early March to mid-April. Since you travel by boat from Fukuoka City, you can also enjoy the feeling of an island trip.

It boasts one of the highest hot spring output volumes and number of sources in the prefecture. The free-flowing natural spring water is known for its silky texture. Together they are called the “Double Beauty Skin Bath.” Besides overnight stays, there are plenty of facilities offering drop-in baths, allowing visitors to enjoy a variety of hot springs on a day trip.

The sight of about 5 million rapeseed blossoms blooming across roughly 6 hectares is breathtaking, like a yellow carpet stretching endlessly in every direction. The collaboration with carp streamers and yellow handkerchief decorations creates a beautiful seasonal scene. The best viewing season is usually from early to late March. Around mid-March, the “Nanohana Festival” is held and attracts many visitors.

    One of the prefecture’s leading kofun clusters, where burial mounds of the ancient Munakata clan remain among rice fields. From early to late March, beautiful rapeseed blossoms bloom around the mounds. In early to mid-March, the “Fukutsu Kofun Festival” is also held, offering engaging events such as guided kofun tours and ancient-themed activities.

Another highlight is the collaboration scenery with the JR Chikuhi Line running along National Route 202.

The best viewing season is usually from late March to mid-April. Be sure to visit together with the roadside station.

    Note: In 2026, as a trial initiative, Chinese milk vetch seeds were sown in January instead of rapeseed blossoms, and they are expected to be at their best in April. (Rapeseed blossoms are scheduled to return in 2027.)

About 10,000 tulips of around 10 varieties planted by local residents bloom beautifully from mid-March to early April each year. The sight of colorful tulips swaying in the breeze is sure to become a wonderful memory.
