Miyajidake Shrine – “Path of Light” Sunset Festival
【宮地嶽神社】光の道 夕陽のまつり
A special moment when the shrine and the Pure Land of Paradise are connected by dazzling light
Around the 20th of February and October each year, Miyajidake Shrine and the western Pure Land align in a straight line of sunlight known as the “Path of Light.” This rare phenomenon has been carefully preserved and celebrated over generations.
During the festival period, a special sunset prayer ceremony is held, and commemorative goshuin (shrine stamps) are available. After the ceremony, visitors with special seating can view the “Path of Light.”
