Yanagawa Doll Festival – Sagemon Decoration Tour
柳川雛祭り さげもんめぐり
Celebrate the healthy growth of girls with lucky handmade fabric ornaments and colorful “Yanagawa Mari” balls.
“Sagemon” decorations, displayed beside the Hina doll stand to celebrate a girl’s first seasonal festival, are a traditional Hinamatsuri custom of Yanagawa dating back to the Edo period.
During the festival period, colorful events unique to the water town of Yanagawa—such as the Floating Hina Doll Festival—are held over 52 days.
