Koishi Kannon Temple – Setsubun Star Festival Prayer for Good Fortune & Protection

This event is held to honor one’s birth year and pray to Kannon (the Goddess of Mercy) for health and well-being throughout the year.

During the lucky bean-throwing ceremony, Fuku-men and Fuku-women throw beans from a stage set up in front of the main hall. Afterward, “Fuku-otoki” (rice cooked with soybeans) is served to visitors.
