Genkai Royal Hotel and Genkai Satsuki Hot Springs

ロイヤルホテル宗像

Drive towards Munakata City from either Fukuoka or Kitakyushu City for about an hour and you’ll see the Genkai Royal Hotel and Genkai Satsuki Hot Springs. Springing up just as the hotel was completed, these were the first springs in the Genkai area and were named for their proximity to Satsuki Pine Forest. The communal and outdoor baths contain simple, mild alkaline spring water effective in relieving neuralgia and fatigue. The outdoor baths are particularly popular for being a place where bathers can comfortably relax and feel the ocean breeze that blows through Satsuki Pine Forest, which has been chosen one of the Top 100 Most Beautiful Stretches of White Sand and Green Pines. The coast also bustles in the summer with families enjoying a dip in the ocean.
