【Futsukaichi Onsen】Daimaru Besso

だいまるべっそう

A traditional Japanese ryokan set on an expansive 6,500-tsubo property.
With a history of over 160 years, it’s a distinguished inn that has even hosted the Showa Emperor and the then-Crown Prince (now His Majesty the Emperor).
The accommodation wings are built around a Japanese garden and divided by era: Taisho-tei, Showa-tei, and Heian-tei.
Currently, guests can stay in Showa-tei and Heian-tei.
One standout feature is the large public bath—spanning about 100 tsubo.
Look out the windows and you’ll see vivid greenery, creating an atmosphere that feels like a secluded mountain onsen deep in the woods.
After your bath, you can stroll through the garden or enjoy coffee (and alcoholic drinks) in the lounge—spending the time exactly as you like.
Let the quiet flow of time carry you, and you may feel your mind slowly, gently open up.
