Fukuoka Prefecture Soy Sauce Brewing Cooperation

福岡県醤油醸造協同組合

Established in year 42 of the Showa era (1967). The Fukuoka Prefecture Soy Sauce Brewing Cooperation was born from the collaboration of small to mid-sized soy sauce manufacturers in Fukuoka Prefecture. It is a joint production factory making kiage, or raw soy sauce. It is located, surrounded by nature, in the city of Chikushino. The factory experienced rapid growth and much demand following its expansion in Showa 49 (1974), and is now one of the largest scale factories in Japan. The main purpose of the factory is to use lump-sum purchasing of raw ingredients and mass production to brew kiage (raw soy sauce) at a reduced cost and distribute it to the member factories of the cooperative. In Heisei 3 (1991), a factory for seasonings such as tsuyu and tare sauces was completed, further substantiating the factory as a whole. Fukuoka Prefecture’s soy sauce quality is top-class in Japan, it has received the “most awarded” and “best soy sauce” awards from the yearly “All-Japan Soy Sauce Fair”. In Heisei 12 (2000), its “ISO9,000-series received a certification, strengthening quality control. In Heisei 18 (2006), the “Soy Sauce Information Center” was completed on the premises to help with marketing activities. It is also used for student field trips.Fukuoka soy sauce hall is completed in a site as PR center. It is used for the socialization visits of the student.
