Uchida Sanren Kyoryo (triple arch bridge)

内田三連橋梁

A triple arch bridge on the Heisei Chikuho Railway Tagawa Line between Aka Station and Uchida Station. Built in 1895. The downstream side of the Uchida River has brick work and the upstream side has cut stones. The brick work looks like a striped or checkerboard pattern in which a stacking method called ”getaha structure” in which bricks are protruded alternately. This was adopted for future extension of the bridge in case of double tracking.
