Ayatsuka Burial Mound

綾塚古墳

Ayatsuka Burial Mound contains a cave-style stone chamber made from massive rocks and it is the third largest such stone chamber in Japan. The Empress of Emperor Keiko, Empress Yasaka Irihime no Mikoto, is enshrined there.

*About the Burial Mound: Government-Designated Historical Site; built between the 6th and 7th centuries; 41 meters (about 135 feet) in diameter
