Shiranoe Botanical Garden
白野江植物公園
This park offers visitors the chance to enjoy seasonal flowers and natural greenery throughout the year. Located in a hilly area, it provides a panoramic view of Suo Sea from the hilltop plaza.
In addition to popular gardens such as the cherry blossom garden, azalea garden, and peony garden, visitors can also admire unique plants in the Flower Valley, Wetland Garden, and Aquatic Garden.
In spring, you can see Kawazu-zakura, Somei Yoshino, and the park’s famous “Shiranoe Sato-zakura.” The rare green-blossomed cherry tree, Gyoikou, is especially popular. In late autumn, about 800 trees—such as Japanese maples, ginkgo, enkianthus, crape myrtle, and sweetgum—color the landscape beautifully.
Enjoy picnicking, birdwatching, forest walks, and forest bathing while connecting with nature.
Best viewing seasons:
Cherry blossoms: February – mid-April
Autumn leaves: Late November – early December
Lotus: Late June – early August
Water lilies: July – August
