Dalian Friendship Memorial Hall (former International Friendship Memorial Library)

大連友好記念館(旧国際友好記念図書館)

An international trade route was established between Mojiko and Dalian, China, and Kitakyushu formed a friendship city affiliation with Dalian in 1979. This hall resulted from the construction of a building, to commemorate the 15th anniversary of friendship, identical to one constructed as the headquarters of Dalian Kisen Kaisha in Dalian by the Russian Empire in 1902.
The exterior offers a beautiful contrast of reddish brown and white tile, and the design elements, such as the chimney and decorative roof windows, are a memorable sight.
The interior is occupied by a restaurant on the 1st floor, while the 2nd floor contains the Mojiko Retro Exchange Space, where anyone can take a break, and the Dalian Introduction Corner with information about the friendship city of Dalian. The 3rd floor is occupied by the Community Communication Space for the use of local organizations involved in community development.
